Nitrox Enriched Air Scuba Diving Certification
NITROX ENRICHED AIR SCUBA CERTIFICATION IN SOUTH FLORIDA
Want to get more out of your dive days? Enriched Air Nitrox is a great skill to add to your scuba toolkit. You will
learn what different oxygen percentages mean, how to analyze a tank, and how to plan a dive using enriched
air. Depending on your dive plan and air consumption, nitrox may allow longer no-stop times or shorter surface
intervals – which can mean more time enjoying the reef.
No dives are required for this certification. You will complete the learning material and a knowledge review,
then meet with an instructor before a charter or at another convenient time. Together, you will review dive
planning, analyze tanks, and complete a 25-question quiz.
The class is $250, including the e-learning.
WHY DIVE NITROX?
Many Florida scuba divers prefer to dive Nitrox, particularly when doing repetitive dives. This is because Nitrox contains a lower percentage of nitrogen in the gas mix compared to air, which therefore means less nitrogen going into your body.
Prereqs: Must have PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent. Ages 12 and up.
